What Should You Put on a CNA Job Resume When You Don’t Have Experience?

A CNA job description focuses on assisting nurses and medical staff by providing direct patient care. The primary responsibilities include taking vitals, assisting with activities of daily living (ADL) (i.e. feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, or ambulation), and medication administration.

CNA Skills Resume

Firstly, this job requires compassionate and patient individuals who enjoy engaging with patients. Crafting your resume when your experience is limited doesn’t have to be challenging. Focus on creating a CNA skills resume, highlighting the experience and qualities you have that make you a good candidate.

1: Summary

Use a professional summary to your advantage. For example, talk about your passion for helping others and how you desire to make an impact. You can also use this section to share your personal and professional goals. This will demonstrate to potential employers that you are ambitious and committed to a career in nursing.

2. Skills

This section of your CNA resume without experience allows you to showcase your skill set. First, fill this section with skills that demonstrate your employability. For example, many employers value strong communication skills, reliability, and a team player attitude. Be sure to include any relevant soft and hard skills related to the position you’re applying for. Include computer proficiencies and experience with technology. If you have any clinical experience from your CNA training, add a statement highlighting those responsibilities.

3. Education

Ensure that you include your educational background in your resume. If you are certified, include the date you received certification. If you haven’t taken the certification exam yet, indicate that your certification is in process.
