A Certified Med Tech (also referred to as Medication Technicians), work closely with nurses to provide quality care for patients. The industry commonly refers to medication technicians as medication aides. The terms vary from state to state and are often used interchangeably. 

One of the primary responsibilities of a certified med tech is assisting patients with activities of daily life (ADLs). They help provide basic care at the patient’s bedside. Additionally, med techs take blood pressure readings and patient temperatures. Another key responsibility of a certified med tech is dispensing medications prepared by a nurse or pharmacist.
